It Only Takes One... Foot Campaign

It Only Takes One is a suicide prevention public awareness campaign funded by the Illinois Department of Public Health and operated by MHAI. It Only Takes One was developed to help create an Illinois where no one is touched by suicide.

In Illinois, more than 1,000 people die each year by suicide, which exceeds the number of deaths by homicide, HIV/AIDS or deaths by impaired driving.

We envision where people can live to their full potential.  Suicide is preventable and the It Only Takes One suicide prevention campgain was created to help all the citiziens of our great state understand what they can do to help!

Support MHAI in our suicide prevention campaign, "It only takes one... Foot." Take a step in the right direction with those who know that it only takes one to stop someone from ending his or her life. The goal of this campaign is to increase public awareness around MHAI's suicide prevention program. Use a mile (5,280 feet) as a "visual" reminder that it only takes a person going the extra "mile" to prevent suicide.
