Since 1999, MHAI has worked with a number of collaborative partners to improve the care, treatment and intervention services provided to Illinois citizens during and following a crisis event. MHAI began its work with the development of a statewide crisis team.
It has broadened and expanded its efforts over the past five years collaborating with a number of key leaders throughout the state to ensure that mental health is an integral part of disaster response services in Illinois.
